God, Turkey Day, and New Responsibilities

When much is given much is expected.  We have been given so much through Jesus Christ. Our only way to God and our redemption.  Why do we need to be redeemed?  Because man is corrupt and incapable of doing good apart from God's intervening Grace.  Man is incapable of getting to heaven based on his good deeds and being a 'good person'.  Who do we compare ourselves too, Hitler? But compare ourselves to a holy and just God, who is infinitely worthy and has value more than the universe put together.   What reward have we when we do good to those who love us, how about doing good to those who hate us.  That's the inner core of my husbands heart.  Our mission in Afghanistan is to not curse those who hate us, but to restore a nation that is lost and broken, and reveal the only true God that will forgive and heal their land.
My husband is going to be having Thanksgiving with the troops right there on the base. The dinning facility will be making a great meal for them.  He is excited!
He also has been moved to assistant head nurse,  he is once again been put right into leadership.
Please pray for him in this way, and also for our faith in God during this time in our lives.
Pray that our hearts desire will be to live for the glory of God, our marriage will grow stronger, and our lives will be more obedient to scripture.
Thank you for all of your support in his pancake breakfast!!!!!

Phone Reception, concerts, recent stuff...

It's crazy to see how the phone reception is very poor out there.  He is trying his best to have a positive attitude about it.  He is only able to use the internet at the hospital, and that is limited most times.  Skype is a big time NO GO, but he certainly can email.  Tonight we got to talk over gmail video, so that was really nice.
The morale is really low at the camp, he is just staying positive and praying that God will guide him through it.
Outback steak house is going to visit them this Wednesday!  They will be getting a steak meal and be able to enjoy a concert.  American Idol will be performing there.  They are so excited! ! !  It's unbelievable that the soldiers can get entertainment like this, even in a battle zone.  Praise God for those musicians who want to serve our soldiers!
